Whispers of the Ancestors

A Five-Week Online Immersion in Ancestral Reverence & Practice

With Alyona Kobevka & Alexandre Jodun March - April 2027

“Maybe you are searching among the branches,
for what only appears in the roots.” - Rumi

Every single one of us descends from an ancient lineage consisting of life, humans and other-than-humans, reaching back through countless generations and ultimately into the deep history of the living Earth.

Across many earth-honoring and animist cultures (some of which we have been personally blessed to sit with and learn from), maintaining a relationship with one's ancestors is understood as a sacred responsibility and an essential part of living in right relationship with the world. From these traditions and perspectives, our connection with those who came before us is intimately woven into our sense of belonging within the greater web of life and the gifts and responsibilities we carry during our time on Earth.

Yet, for many of us living in the modern world, these threads of connection and kinship have become frayed, forgotten, or severed altogether.

Through colonization, migration and displacement, family ruptures, religious persecution, and the gradual erosion of ancestral traditions, many of us have inherited a profound disconnection from our roots.

And yet, whether we know our ancestors’ names and stories or not, we remain intimately connected to those whose lives made our own possible. The very fact that we are here today, with the opportunity not merely to survive, but to explore our origins and cultivate a life in which we may truly flourish, is a profound miracle and something precious to be explored.

Ancestral reverence invites us into a process of remembrance and relationship. It asks us to turn toward our bloodlines with curiosity, compassion, and the courage to look deeper within. To acknowledge what has been difficult, painful, or left unresolved, while also remembering that the collective field of ancestors have immense blessings to offer.

Within our lineages live tremendous resources of love, wisdom, resilience, and strength, and it is our birthright to embrace these blessings into our lives.

An Invitation to Remember Together

Whispers of the Ancestors is a five-week online immersion devoted to exploring the foundations of ancestral reverence and ritual practice within a loving, respectful, and wholesome community.

This offering is a return to some of the foundational teachings from our Remembering the Roots online program, in which ancestral reverence was a central thread. We are delighted to revisit this terrain, bringing together some of the essential teachings and practices from that journey into a more focused immersion, enriched by our continued learning, practice, and relationship with this work.

Whether you participated in Remembering the Roots and feel called to deepen your relationship with the material, have some experience with ancestral work, or are encountering this work for the very first time, you are warmly welcome.

Over our five weeks together, we will draw upon systemic perspectives, ancestral ritual healing, grief-tending, prayer, spirit work & more to explore the relationships that have shaped us, and the possibilities that emerge when we begin to tend to these connections with intention and consistency.

We will explore our relationship with our blood lineages specifically, including the complexities of belonging within our family systems, the importance of honoring those who have been excluded or forgotten, and the ways historical and intergenerational suffering may continue to influence our lives.

Alongside this, we will turn toward the nourishing dimensions of ancestral connection: cultivating kinship and reciprocity with our elders, opening to receiving the blessings and wisdom of our people, and learning to become more receptive to the support and guidance that is available to us in the here and now.

Our integrative approach is rooted in the understanding that ancestral work is not something to perfect, accomplish, or master. On the contrary, it is a humble practice of cultivating genuine relationship (which takes time!) – one that indeed asks for patience, deep listening, sincerity, the capacity to hold complexity, and a willingness to meet whatever arises as part of our learning and evolution.

The Rhythm of Our Five Weeks

Each weekly gathering will take place on a Thursday evening (Peru Time) offering a nourishing balance of teaching, time for questions and reflections, and an experiential practice, allowing you to engage with the material not only intellectually, but also through your heart, body, and lived experience.

Between our gatherings, there will be gentle invitations for personal reflection, ritual practice, and other resources to support you in establishing a meaningful and sustainable rhythm with the work. These invitations are intended to help you bring what we explore together into the fabric of your everyday life, allowing your relationship with your ancestors to unfold and deepen over time.

We will move at a thoughtful pace, honoring the different histories, experiences, and capacities that each person brings. There is no expectation to arrive with particular beliefs, spiritual experiences, or extensive knowledge of your family history. We simply ask that you come with curiosity, humility, and a willingness to participate and explore this terrain.

Our hope is that this immersion will offer not only meaningful teachings and practices, but also the nourishment of a community of fellow travelers who share a sincere longing to remember, reconnect, and live in greater harmony with all of their relations, in this world and the Otherworld.

May we become tender-loving descendants of those who came before us, and wise and powerful elders to those yet to come.
