About the event
Every month, as part of our evolving series called "Shaping The Sacred," together we will be offering an online experiential workshop on various essential practices to cultivate a meaningful life in community. This month, in March, we will be providing you with the tools to create a ritual offerings practice, which will support you in strengthening your connection to the seen and unseen worlds.
"Beauty isn't the way you look - it's the way you look at the world." - Martín Prechtel (Rescuing the Light)
We believe it's true that most of us in the modern world (including ourselves, of course) ebb and flow between a consciousness of deep forgetting and a consciousness of vital remembering. What we tend to forget is the sacredness and preciousness of this existence that gives so generously to us each day. In fact, the Taitas (traditional A'i Cofan shamans) shared with us on a recent pilgrimage that they drink yagé to remember the wisdom of their ancestors. It is far too easy to forget, they say.
So, we too, make offerings to remember. To remember how to speak from our hearts, how to be in a reciprocal relationship with life, and how to love more fully. As we remember how to give back to life through appreciation, love can enter our being more fully. We may then feel more connected, alive, and trusting in whatever life brings. This re-connection often ripples out into all our relations as an embodiment of gratitude.
When we make offerings from the heart, we energetically restore harmony, not only to ourselves but also to the world. It is fitting that to express 'I am healthy' in Ashaninka (an indigenous group who live in the rainforests of Peru and Brazil), the word, "nocaratanaje," is used - which literally translates into "I carry harmony." Perhaps this is a perspective of health that could enrich our lives, fostered by the practice of making offerings.
As with most ritual and ceremonial practice, we have found that this process is a slow, organic, and mysterious one - oftentimes revealing its fruits only after years of devotional tending, and sometimes gifting spontaneous moments of grace. We'd love to support you in cultivating this beautiful, subtly powerful, and joyful practice.
ABOUT THIS WORKSHOP:
This workshop will invoke and honor the qualities of beauty, radiance, and interconnectedness - supporting us in the sincere practice of gratitude and reverence for life.
Together, we will move our bodies, connect with local plants, express love and gratitude from our hearts, and make offerings to the Spirit of life -- where the beauty of existence may be remembered and embodied.
This workshop is designed to be experienced live as it requires ritual participation, however, will be recorded if you cannot attend on the day.
We hope you will join us!
